Local Production for National Resilience

Chancellor House is addressing a critical public health challenge in Ghana through a proposed local Textile Factory, aimed at reducing the heavy reliance on imported medical supplies.

Ghana currently lacks local production of essential items like mosquito nets and medical apparels, relying heavily on foreign imports despite a domestic demand for 8–10 million mosquito nets annually. This initiative provides a reliable, cost-effective, local supply chain for public health.

Primary Goals of the Factory

  • Meet National Demand: Produce "made in Ghana" treated mosquito nets (various sizes) to satisfy domestic requirements within the first year of operation.
  • Supply Medical Sector: Manufacture a comprehensive range of critical Medical Apparels, including Lab, Nursing, Patient, Hospital Bedding, and Operation Theater apparels.
  • Regional Export: Expand exports to neighboring countries starting from the second year of operations to meet broader regional demand.
